SRNE PWM Solar Charge Controller 10A
Why buy this?
- Cost effective charge controller.
- Includes load/lighting control.
- Ideal for sheds.
Features
Cost effective compared to MPPT charge controllers.
Similar output to MPPT when there is no clouds or shade.
Compatible with liquid lead acid only.
Automatic detection of 12 or 24V.
Common positive grounding.
Temperature compensation is not available.
Accreditations

Compliant with Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) in Electrical and Electronic Equipment.

European CE approved – assessed to meet high safety, health, and environmental protection requirements.
MPPT vs PWM
Charge controllers are either Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) or Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). They can look identical, but have different electronics inside.

Benefits of MPPT
Increased output in partial shade conditions e.g. when there are clouds or partial shade.
More flexible design when matching with solar panels. Possibility to use less expensive higher voltage solar panels.
More efficient than PWM controllers meaning more energy from the sun being stored in the battery.
Recommendation
For caravans, yachts and campervans, where there is often limited space for solar panels and often shade, we recommend MPPT solar charge controllers. Therefore, this PWM charge controller is recommended for sheds or light control.
Compatibility
- Compatible with flooded lead acid batteries only.
- Max solar input is 130W at 12V.
- Max solar voltage is 55V (Open Circuit Voltage – Voc).
- Compatible with 12V and 24V battery systems.
- Not suitable for installation on boats and yachts due to no waterproof protection IP30.
- Not suitable for campervans and caravans due to common positive grounding.
